Space Coast Elects New Board of Directors
At
the February 18 meeting of Space Coast Clean Cities Coalition,
a new Board of Directors was elected into office. The nominating
committee presented nominations for the Board of Directors.
Coalition members elected were as follows:
Automotive industry representatives:
Jim Dewitz
Bryan Taylor
Infrastructure industry representatives:
Leslie Schoeneich
Jim Law
Public representatives:
Rocky Randels
Bill Simon
General representative:
Richard Schaut
The
Board is divided into four sectors representing different
areas of the interest in alternative fuels vehicles. There
are two representatives from each of the four areas except
General, giving a total odd number of seven. At the next
meeting, Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasure, and Secretary will
be elected from the new Board of Directors.
New AFV projects in the works
January
was a very busy month for many stakeholders beyond election
of the Board. The U.S. Department of Energy released a Request
for Proposals for the year 2000 State Energy Program. Under
this program approximately $14 million was available for
various types of Special Projects through the State Energy
Offices. Funding continues to be provided for Clean Cities
through this program. To qualify for Special Projects funding,
you must be a member of a designated Clean Cities Coalition.
Proposals
were developed and written by members under the Transportation
Technologies for Clean Cities/Alternative Fuels topic. Proposals
were due February 7 to the Florida Energy Office. The Clean
Cities/Alternative Fuels topic had five categories dealing
with infrastructure, vehicles, fuel cells, and coalition
coordinator.
