Florida Electric Vehicle Educational Initiative
Fran and Ron Fahs started the Electric Vehicle Initiative as an educational outreach program with the Florida Electric Auto Association to make automotive students aware of electric drive technologies as they learn about automotive technologies in the Automotive Service Excellence Program. ASE training is provided at many Florida Community Colleges. This team will visit many colleges during their 6 week track from Tallahassee to Miami and back to met State Representatives. You can follow their daily activities on their blog at http:eviblog.floridaeaa.org. While in Miami they attended the FLAEAA Battery Beach Burnout (EV race and event ) as they looped Florida stopping at Community Colleges like Indian River, Palm Beach and Seminole Community Colleges. They received enthusiastic welcome and great interest in learning about PHEV. They are traveling in their Toyota Prius converted from a hybrid into a plug-in hybrid using a Hymotion kit.
Foreign Affairs in Florida
The Florida Electric Auto Association has been growing in Florida from the ever increasing interest in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles. There are over 100 members and the organization has joined both Space Coast and Gold Coast Coalitions. One of the local auto repair and dealer organizations in Palm Beach County has taken on repairing and selling EV’s and HEV’s in a big way so as to represent many manufactures. This latest success has been for Foreign Affairs to become the latest authorize dealer of Hymotion Prius hybrid conversion kits distributors. This makes Foreign Affairs the only Hymotion distributor in the Southeastern part of the country.
